New round of Gaza ceasefire talks set for Cairo within a week

The next round of negotiations on establishing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will be held in Cairo within the coming week, according to a joint communiqué published by Egyptian, Qatari, and US mediators following consultations in Doha.

According to Report, which cites TASS, the high-level representatives of the three governments aim to reach an agreement on the points discussed during the Doha meeting.

The mediators added that "technical groups will continue to develop mechanisms for implementing the basic principles of the agreement over the next few days," including "those related to the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners."

The talks in Doha were described as "constructive and serious," with the parties noting that the consultations took place "in a positive atmosphere."
