Netherlands pledges €271M for artillery ammunition supply to Ukraine

The Netherlands plans to increase the supply of large-caliber artillery ammunition to Ukraine, committing an additional €271 million to support the effort, Report informs via United24.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, on his official account on X (formerly Twitter).

He emphasized that Denmark, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands are determined to jointly support Ukraine against Russian aggression and reminded that that is why they started the initiative to supply ammunition.

“We will deliver more large caliber artillery ammunition. The Netherlands is contributing €271 million for artillery shells. With this, we will help Ukraine with the ammunition supplies in 2025 and stimulate the European defense industry to scale up further.“

During the European Council summit in February 2024, Czechia introduced the initiative to supply Ukraine with artillery ammunition purchasing it from EU and non-EU countries. Thanks to the Czech ammunition initiative, ammunition has been delivered to Ukraine on a consistent basis.
