On June 3, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at a meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Report informs via the News of Israel.
"The war cabinet did not agree to end the war as part of the deal," the Prime Minister said.
“Biden presented a partial picture. The war will stop to allow an opportunity to return the hostages, and after that, we will reassess the situation,” Netanyahu stated.
He added that there are details of the deal that the US President has not disclosed.
When asked about what will happen after the first stage of the deal is completed, Netanyahu said that Israel retains the right to resume military operations if Hamas “plays for time.”
The Prime minister also stated that he opposes the creation of a state commission of inquiry during the war, but he refused to comment on his general stance regarding the establishment of such a commission.
