Netanyahu accuses West of losing its conscience

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Western countries of losing their conscience over calls to hold elections in the country, Report informs, citing foreign media sources.

"Did you decide so quickly to deny Israel the right to protection from the monsters of Hamas? Did you lose your conscience so quickly?" Netanyahu said, the Financial Times reported.

According to the prime minister, Western politicians seeking elections in Israel are well aware that voting will paralyze the country for six months and lead to the termination of the operation in Gaza.

The leader of the Democratic majority of the US Senate, Chuck Schumer, previously called for early elections in Israel. And The Washington Post noted that, according to sources, the administration of the American president no longer considers Netanyahu as a productive partner.

The prime minister of the Jewish state, in turn, said that the IDF is close to achieving its goals in the Gaza Strip, and the fighting may end in 1-2 months.

Netanyahu also disagreed with Biden's statement that the Israeli authorities are pursuing a policy against the interests of the majority of the country's population.
