NATO opening liaison office in Geneva, says Swiss gov't

NATO is opening a multilateral liaison office in Geneva to engage with the international and non-governmental organizations based there, the Swiss government said on July 15, Report informs referring to Reuters.

Switzerland, which received the official request from the defense alliance at the end of last year, is facilitating this office's establishment in its capacity as a host state, it said.

The agreement signed on July 15 governs matters including the legal status of the liaison office, as well as privileges and immunities, the government added.
