NATO naval exercise starts in Romania

Sea Shield 24, NATO's largest naval exercise, begins today in Constanta, in the south-eastern area of ​​Romania, in which more than 2,200 soldiers from 12 allied and partner countries are participating, the Romanian Ministry of Defense said in a press release, Report informs via Agenzia Nova.

Under the coordination of the Romanian naval forces, military maneuvers will take place for two weeks both in the Black Sea and on the Danube River.

The multinational exercise is actually the most complex event conducted by the Romanian fleet, in which, among others, the naval forces of the United States, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Greece, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Georgia, and Moldova. More than 2,200 military personnel and an impressive number of ships, planes, boats, and vehicles will train in the Black Sea, the coastal area, on the rivers, and in the Danube Delta. There will be missions to combat illegal activities, maritime and river control, search and rescue at sea, and ensure safety at the level of critical infrastructure. Some divisions of the Romanian Army Forces will also participate.
