A drone was shot down over Lithuania's Kaunas district, Report informs via Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT).
It was noted that the country's Fire and Rescue Department detected the drone shortly after midnight as it entered Lithuanian airspace.
Yellow air alerts were issued for Vilnius, Trakai, Elektrėnai, and Kaunas districts, and operations at Vilnius Airport were restricted.
In response, NATO air policing fighter jets took off and destroyed the drone half an hour later.
Following the interception, warnings and temporary flight restrictions for civil aviation were lifted. Lithuania's National Crisis Management Center reported that radar systems tracked the object moving from the Trakai direction.
