NATO exercises have begun in nine countries, Report informs, citing the Polish Ministry of National Defense.
About 18,000 troops will take part in the NATO drills, which will begin in Poland and be held in eight other countries as well.
Defender Europe 2022 (DE22) and Swift Response 2022 (SR22) exercises will be held in Poland on May 1-27. A total of 18,000 troops and 3,000 vehicles from more than 20 countries have already arrived in Poland.
Soldiers from the United States, France, Sweden, Germany, Denmark and the United Kingdom will also take part in the exercises in Poland. Polish soldiers, in turn, will take part in the drills in Lithuania and Latvia.
Defender Europe 22 exercises are organized by the US Armed Forces and aim to build preparedness and interaction between the United States and NATO allies.
Polish F-16, Su-22 and Mi-24 helicopters will be involved in the exercises.
