Erdogan meets with NATO Secretary General in Ankara

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who arrived on an official visit to Ankara.

Report informs via the Turkish media that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Defense Minister Yasar Guler attended the meeting.

Earlier, Rutte told journalists that he was looking forward to meeting with Erdogan to discuss key global challenges, including the threat of terrorism, the war in Ukraine, and the crisis in the Middle East.

The visit to Ankara is Rutte's first official trip to Türkiye since taking office as NATO Secretary General in October.

He is expected to hold meetings with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Defense Minister Yasar Guler. Rutte's visit program also includes meetings with representatives of the Turkish defense industry and visits to TUSAŞ facilities - Türkiye's leading aircraft manufacturer.
