Miracle in China: Toddler survives 18th-floor fall

A three-year-old boy in China miraculously survived after falling from an apartment window on the 18th floor.

According to Report, citing TASS, the child fell onto a tree, which softened the impact before he hit the ground.

The incident occurred on July 15 in Hangzhou, in the southeast of the country, but only became known recently. The boy’s parents had left him in the care of his grandparents. Believing the child was asleep, they briefly went out to buy groceries, locking the apartment door. However, the boy woke up, went into the bathroom, and fell out of its window. The tree growing below cushioned his fall.

A local resident found the child on the ground and called doctors. Medical staff diagnosed a broken left arm and other injuries, but his head was unharmed. The boy is now recovering.

As a gesture of gratitude, the boy’s father tied a large red flower — a traditional Chinese symbol of honor and triumph — to the tree trunk.
