Messi, Denzel Washington, and Hillary Clinton among 19 recipients of highest US honor

The White House has announced that 19 remarkable individuals will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States. Among the recipients are football superstar Lionel Messi, acclaimed actor Denzel Washington, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Joining Messi, Washington, and Clinton on this illustrious list are business magnate and philanthropist George Soros, fashion icon Ralph Lauren, basketball legend Erwin "Magic" Johnson, and iconic musician Bono. Each of these individuals has left an indelible mark on their respective industries and has used their influence to make a positive impact on society, the White House said in a statement.
