All opportunities for resolving the conflict in Ukraine through diplomatic means have been lost, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said in the Bundestag, Report informs referring to The Guardian.
“Diplomatic ways of resolving the conflict between Ukraine and Russia have been exhausted,” he said.
According to Merz, Germany will continue to support Ukraine, despite pressure from the political left and pro-Russian right within the country.
The chancellor added that Germany will also strengthen its own defense capabilities and continue military and financial assistance to Kyiv in order to prevent further expansion of Russian aggression in Europe.
