Former Interpol head sentenced to 13.5 years in prison in China

Middle-stage people's court in Tianjin in northern China sentenced to 13.5 years in prison former Interpol chief and ex-Deputy Minister of public security Meng Hongwei, Report said, citing TASS.

According to the information, the defendant did not express a desire to appeal the verdict.

Notably, Interpol chief Meng Hongwei resigned in 2018. He was suspected of violating Chinese laws.
