Massive bridge collapse in Germany disrupts city life

A large section of the iconic Carolabrücke bridge in Dresden, Germany, collapsed into the Elbe river in the early hours of Wednesday. The collapsed portion included tram tracks and a pedestrian walkway. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in this dramatic event that occurred around 3:00 AM local time (5:00 AM Baku time).

The bridge collapse has severely impacted the city's infrastructure, damaging two major district heating lines and leaving the entire city without centralized heating.

Emergency services are currently on the scene, investigating the cause of the collapse. The area around the bridge has been cordoned off, and residents are advised to avoid the vicinity.
