The issue of Russian military bases in Syria doesn't concern the EU, and it will be considered exclusively within the dialogue between Moscow and Damascus, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at today's briefing, responding to NEWS.ru's question about EU diplomatic chief Kaja Kallas's statement, who named the withdrawal of Russian bases as a condition for starting dialogue with Syria's new authorities, Report informs.
According to Zakharova, Kallas is "the chief anti-diplomat, just like her predecessor Josep Borrell."
"She is not the chief diplomat, but the chief anti-diplomat, judging even by her statements during the first period in this position. Among other things, she inherited such a legacy - Borrell was the same kind of anti-diplomat. This all indicates not so much their personal position. This is simply the transformation of the EU into NATO's economic department, which has been dominated by aggressive rhetoric and ideology since its creation," she noted.
