French President Emmanuel Macron said amid the country's pension system reform that he was ready to sacrifice his rating in the polls for the sake of French interests, since he does not plan to be re-elected for another term, Report informs via TASS.
“I am not going to be re-elected, I cannot do this under the constitution. Between momentary public opinion polls and the interests of the country, I will choose the latter,” Macron said in an interview with TF1 and France 2 TV channels.
"If I have to face unpopularity, I'm ready for that," he added.
