Lithuania introduces restrictions for unvaccinated citizens

The Lithuanian authorities have imposed severe restrictions on those who haven’t been vaccinated against the coronavirus, Report informs referring to TASS.

These measures are aimed at motivating the population to get vaccinated.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, from Sept. 13, persons without the so-called passport of opportunities won’t be able to visit shopping centers with an area of more than 1,500 square meters and all shops except for the groceries. They won’t be provided with several services, including the closed entrance to catering establishments and public events. The unvaccinated can be suspended from work if the employer decides that all workforce members must have a passport of opportunity.

A passport (introduced in July) in electronic or paper form can be issued to those vaccinated, as well as those who have recovered from COVID if a medical test shows a sufficient amount of antibodies. Those who don’t wish to be vaccinated can obtain this certificate by taking a coronavirus test. Such persons are no longer tested in state facilities. In private laboratories, the test costs between 22 and 60 euros. The test, however, is considered valid for 48 hours.
