Lithuania inks deal with Rheinmetall to build ammunition plant

The Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation on June 3 signed an agreement with the German arms concern Rheinmetall on the construction of an ammunition plant, according to Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania Ausrine Armonaite, Report informs referring to local media.

“The establishment of the Rheinmetall plant in Lithuania... will help ensure uninterrupted access to the necessary weapons and ammunition, as we ourselves will produce the products necessary for the defense of Europe. After an investment of more than 180 million euros, the new plant is expected to create at least 150 new jobs,” reads the statement.
