Lithuania awaits presidential decision on government's confidence within 30 days

Gitanas Nauseda, re-elected for a second term as the President of Lithuania, will decide on the confidence in the Cabinet of Ministers within the next month, Report informs via TASS.

"By mid-July, I hope to find solutions that will benefit Lithuania. It is necessary to maintain political stability," he told journalists.

According to the procedure, after the President takes office in July, the government returns its powers to him, and the head of state proposes the candidacy of the Prime Minister for approval by the parliament. This could be the former head of government.

Nauseda had previously stated that several ministers might be replaced in the new cabinet. He has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Education, Science, and Sports.
