Light plane crash in Germany leaves two dead

A light aircraft has crashed near the town of Gundelsheim in the Heilbronn district of Germany's Baden-Württemberg state, the German police confirmed, Report informs, citing broadcaster SWR.

It was noted that two people on board the aircraft were killed in the crash.

The aircraft became entangled in a fence and struck a tree while attempting to land. It then fell to the ground and crashed.

Police as well as fire and rescue services were dispatched to the scene. A fire that broke out at the crash site has since been extinguished.
