Lebanon calls on US to restrain Israel to prevent regional conflict

The Lebanese government has warned the United States that any large-scale attack by Israel on Lebanese territory will lead to a regional conflict, according to Report, which cites the Mayadeen TV channel.

"Lebanon has asked the US to restrain Israel amid ongoing military escalation to prevent a conflict that could engulf the entire Middle East," Acting Foreign Minister of Lebanon, Abdallah Bou Habib, said. He also noted that the US has called on Lebanese authorities to "take measures to curb the Hezbollah militia."

Mikati emphasized that Lebanon "strongly condemns all acts of violence and any attacks on civilians." However, the Hezbollah leadership denied involvement in strikes on Golan Heights and informed the command of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) that the deaths in Majdal Shams were caused by the fall of an Israeli anti-rocket.
