Lavrov jokes on Putin's meeting with Biden

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, after talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, has joked about a possible summit of the leaders of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

The Russian foreign minister was asked whether Moscow had agreed to the meeting of the presidents. In response, the minister said that ‘we are not customs house to give the go-ahead.’

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that there is no final agreement on holding a meeting between Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, but if it is reached, the summit might be held in one of the ‘European diplomatic capitals.’

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on May 18 that the American side expects a meeting of the two presidents in the coming weeks.
