Latvia intends to deport 800 Russians without residence permits

The Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia (OCMA) is deporting 800 Russians who have not obtained a residence permit in the country and have not passed a language test, according to the representative of the OCMA Madara Puke, Report informs referring to Latvian media.

“They did not apply for a permanent residence permit, in addition to which it was necessary to provide the results of an exam on knowledge of the Latvian language... 800 people did not respond (to the authorities’ request for a residence permit in the country). We transferred information about these persons to the State Border Guard Service for further verification. In the coming weeks it will become clear whether these people are still in Latvia. If they are, orders to leave will be issued for a period of 30 days,” she noted.
