Lassa fever kills 32 in Nigeria 

A Lassa fever outbreak in Nigeria has killed at least 32 people since the beginning of this year, Report informs.

According to a situation report by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), 6 more people died from fever in the past two days.

In 2021, a total of 674 dangerous diseases were detected in Nigeria, of which 102 were fatal.

Lassa fever was first reported in Nigeria in 1969 in the northeastern state of Borno.

Due to the spread of the disease, the government declared a state of emergency in the country last year.

Lassa fever is transmitted to humans through contact with rats and mice. This dangerous disease can be transmitted from person to person and can be fatal.

The country's leadership called on the population to adhere to hygiene standards and avoid contact with rodents.
