Kyrgyz president declares threat to country’s territorial integrity

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said the border conflict with Tajikistan threatened his country’s territorial integrity, Report informs referring to TASS.

“April 28-30 for the people of Kyrgyzstan have become days of difficult historical trials and sorrow,” Japarov said about the conflict on the border with Tajikistan. “The territorial integrity and security of our sacred Fatherland were under threat, and the peace of the people was violated.”

As reported, 78 houses were damaged in Kyrgyzstan due to the conflict on the border with Tajikistan.

Earlier, Kyrgyzstan evacuated more than 33,000 citizens from the conflict zone on the border with Tajikistan.

On April 28, a conflict broke out on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan between local residents in the area of ​​the ‘Golovnoy’ water distribution point, which the Tajik side considers its territory, while the Kyrgyz side considers it disputed area. As a result of clashes on both sides, about 40 people were killed, more than 200 were injured.
