Kazakh president: Global problems cannot be solved without comprehensive reform of UN Security Council

The problems facing the international community cannot be solved without comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the general political debate within the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Report informs.

He also said that the voices of the middle powers and all developing countries must be heard in the Council.

As the Security Council appears unable to break the deadlock, it must become more representative so that other countries - including Kazakhstan - can play a greater role in maintaining peace and security, Tokayev said.
