Jordan Bardella emerges as leading candidate for French presidential election

Jordan Bardella, leader of France’s far-right National Rally Party, has been identified as the frontrunner in the upcoming presidential election, according to a survey conducted by Toluna Harris Interactive for RTL channel, Report informs via Interfax.

The survey suggests that if Bardella replaces Marine Le Pen as the National Rally’s candidate in the 2027 presidential elections, 35–36% of French voters are prepared to support him in the first round.

Bardella is followed by former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, who has garnered 23–25% voter support, while far-left politician Jean-Luc Mélenchon ranks third with 13%.

Marine Le Pen, the current leader of the National Rally faction, has been barred from running for office for five years due to legal restrictions, preventing her from participating in the next presidential election.
