Japan cancels more than 100 flights due to typhoon

At least 141 domestic flights have been canceled in Japan due to the approaching typhoon Chan-hom, Report says, referring to TASS.

According to NHK, the schedule changes mainly concern the routes connecting the island of Kusu in the south-west of the country with other regions of the country. Rail transport operates as before, but the operator does not rule out that restrictions will be imposed on the trains' movement.

The storm is now in the south of Japan, in the Pacific Ocean, and moving to the northeast. In its central part, the wind speed reaches 35 meters per second. Due to the effects of tropical storms, heavy rains are falling in some areas.

Meteorologists believe the typhoon could approach the western part of the country on Saturday and then pass south of Tokyo, but not directly into Japan.
