The Italian government is planning to completely abandon health passports from May 1, Report informs citing TASS that the Messaggero newspaper said on Thursday that the use of this document will be gradually reduced in April, including in public transport, as well as in a number of institutions.
According to the newspaper, citing the approved decisions of the members of the scientific and technical committee, which makes recommendations to the government on measures to contain the pandemic, the COVID certificate based on the vaccination certificate will be replaced at the workplace with a basic one based on the result of the coronavirus test.
Mandatory wearing of masks in enclosed spaces will last until April 30. Starting next month, stadium occupancy restrictions will be lifted. From April 1, quarantines for those who have been in contact with infected people will be lifted. Only the infected are required to self-isolate. Mandatory vaccination remains only for healthcare workers.
The government will not extend the state of emergency, which expires on March 31. From this moment, the color affiliation of the regions is removed based on epidemiological data. The committee, which included prominent experts and representatives of medical institutions, ceases to exist. On March 31, the Extraordinary Commissioner for the Prevention of the Pandemic will complete its duties. The final decisions of the government on lifting restrictions are expected by the end of the day, the paper clarifies.
