Italy suspends nearly 2,000 doctors from work due to lack of vaccination

Italy has suspended nearly 2,000 medics from work as they have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, EFE reports, citing the National Federation for Management in Medicine, Report informs.

1,972 doctors were suspended from work, which is 0.4% of the total number of doctors in Italy. Although, according to the federation, the approximate real percentage of unvaccinated people could rise to 7.2%.

After receiving a suspension notice, physicians will have five days to provide proof of exemption from vaccination or a certificate of vaccination.
