Israeli army says kills 50 Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that it killed 50 Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon on Saturday in face-to-face encounters and directed air force strikes, Report informs via Xinhua.

The IDF added that it targeted more than 200 Hezbollah targets including underground tunnel shafts, dozens of weapon storage infrastructures, rocket launchers, mortar bombs, and anti-tank missiles aimed at northern Israel localities and army forces.

The Israeli Air Force also conducted an operation targeting underground facilities along the Syria-Lebanon border, where Hezbollah weapons were stored, said the statement.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military continued its operation throughout the Gaza Strip, destroying military infrastructure and killing dozens of militants through tank fire, short-range fire, and air force strikes, the IDF added.
