Israel holds Iraq responsible for actions of pro-Iranian militias — Foreign Minister

Israel holds Iraq responsible for the actions of pro-Iranian militias, originating from its territory and aimed against the Jewish state, and reserves the right for self-defense, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said, demanding that the UN urgently take action in this direction, Report informs via TASS.

Sa’ar said on his X page that he sent a corresponding letter to the current UN Security Council Chairman, British Permanent Representative Barbara Woodward.

"This evening [November 18 -TASS] I sent a letter to the President of the UN Security Council in which I called for immediate action regarding the activity of the pro-Iranian militias in Iraq, whose territory is being used to attack Israel. I emphasized that the Iraqi government is responsible for everything that happens on its territory and that Israel has the right to self-defense, as enshrined in the UN Charter, to protect itself and its citizens," he said.
