Iranians in Poland call for support of protesters in Iran

Iranians living in Poland are calling on Polish politicians to join the campaign to help political prisoners detained in Iran for participating in anti-government protests, Report informs via Eurasia Daily.

A few weeks ago, public figures and citizens of Iranian origin in Western countries began a protest to support political prisoners. Over time, the protest was supported by parliamentarians from the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Sweden and other countries.

At the moment, the Iranians are turning to Polish politicians asking them to support this initiative, and a petition has been started, which anyone can sign.

Dr. Karolina Rakovetska-Asgari from the Department of Iranian Studies at the Jagiellonian University noted that more than 18,000 Iranians have already been arrested, and about a hundred are under threat of death.
