Iranian Foreign Ministry accuses Germany, UK and France of not implementing their part of JCPOA

Germany, the UK and France have not fulfilled their commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani Chafi said, Report informs referring to TASS.

“We have always stressed that illegal sanctions are contrary to international law and violate human rights. As for the JCPOA, unfortunately, the US government withdrew from this international agreement, and the European governments didn’t fulfill their commitments,” the diplomat said, referring to several packages of sanctions imposed by European countries against Iranian individuals and entities.

“We believe that the European governments, especially these three [Germany, the UK and France], bear the same responsibility as the US for not fulfilling their commitments under the JCPOA,” he added. He noted that these countries behave unacceptably when they make claims against Iran or impose sanctions against the Islamic Republic on the basis of false accusations, given that they have not fulfilled their obligations under the nuclear deal.

The JCPOA was signed with Iran in 2015 in order to overcome the crisis over its nuclear development by the Permanent Five of the UN Security Council and Germany.
