Iran's vice president proposes establishment of int'l organization in Middle East

Iranian Vice President Mohammad Javad Zarif has proposed creating a new structure in the Middle East called the Muslim West Asian Dialogue Association (MWADA) to establish stability in the region and strengthen cooperation between regional players, Report informs via TASS.

Zarif wrote in an authored article for The Economist that the new initiative should unite all Muslim countries in the Middle East - Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Türkiye, UAE, and Yemen - on a single platform based on common religion, collective security, and the principle of non-interference.

The main priorities of MWADA, as noted by the Iranian vice president, should be the resolution of all current crises in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and countering outside interference from non-regional players.

MWADA will provide favorable ground for infrastructure projects, from transportation to energy pipelines and telecommunication networks, he added.

The structure will also prioritize cultural exchanges, cooperation in water resource management, counter-terrorism, and media campaigns to promote harmonious coexistence, Zarif emphasized.
