Indian woman finds diamond worth about $25,000 in forest

A woman stumbled across a precious stone in Madhya Pradesh, India, in the village of Purusottampur, Report informs referring to the New York Post.

She was venturing out to gather firewood when she discovered the diamond.

With the gem in hand, she ran home to tell her husband.

At first, the couple couldn’t identify the sparkling stone and sought help from Anupam Singh, a diamond expert.

The gem weighed in at 4 carats and is estimated to be worth $25,067.66.

The gem is set to be sold at an upcoming diamond auction, hopefully garnering some cash for Bai’s family, who live in dilapidated housing.
