India records less than 30,000 fresh Covid-19 cases in over three months

India recorded less than 30,000 fresh COVID-19 cases after 132 days while its active caseload fell below 4,00,000 after 124 days today, according to Union health ministry data, Report informs, citing TASS.

The country confirmed 29,689 new coronavirus infections that pushed its tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,14,40,951. At the same time, the death toll climbed to 4,21,382 with 415 daily fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.

Since mid-March, India has experienced a sharp increase in Covid morbidity. From April 5, the number of infected people has constantly exceeded 100 thousand people; the anti-record for this indicator was recorded on May 7 and amounted to 414,188 cases per day. But after that, the number of identified new cases decreased, already reaching below 100 thousand on June 8.

Moreover, the number of deaths associated with this infection increased in India by 415 in 24 hours and reached 421,382. During the day, 42,363 patients recovered from CAVID-19, the total number of those cured was 30,621,469 people.

India ranks second in terms of the total number of infected people, behind the United States, and third in terms of mortality, behind the United States and Brazil.
