IDF confirms deaths of two soldiers in Gaza strip

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed the loss of two soldiers during combat operations against the radical Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip.

According to Report, which cites the IDF press service, 21-year-old Lieutenant Shahar Ben Nun, a commander in the Paratroopers Reconnaissance Brigade, fell in battle in southern Gaza. 45-year-old Mahmoud Amria, a scout from the Baram Division of the Border Defense Corps, was killed in combat in the northern part of the Palestinian enclave.

These latest casualties bring the total number of fallen Israeli soldiers to 694 since the beginning of the latest round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as reported by the IDF press service.
