Hurricane Laura causes power outages in State of Arkansas

Tropical Storm Laura disrupted power lines, leaving 300,000 people without power in the U.S. state Arkansas, the state's governor, Asa Hutchinson told CNN.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center said Louisiana and Texas, south of Arkansas, suffered the most.

Laura has a wind speed of 23.3 meters per second. The rate is increasing, and the storm is moving northwest.

The hurricane season in the Atlantic Ocean lasts from June to November.
