Houthi attacks on ships in Red Sea cause economic damage to Italy

The economic damage caused by the attacks by the Yemeni Houthi rebels has already begun, especially for the ports of the South but also that of Genoa, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Italy, Antonio Tajani, speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the academic year of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Report informs, citing Nova.

"The journey around Africa costs much more, increasing the cost of imported goods. We must work to restore a normal solution. We cannot participate in war actions until there is approval from Parliament. We are in contact with the Minister (of Defense Guido) Crosetto, and we will meet again in the afternoon to take stock of the de-escalation and guarantee the navigation of the Red Sea. We must work to ensure that a normal situation is restored as soon as possible, the minister said.

“I will be in the Middle East in the next few days, and we will work for de-escalation," he added.
