Heavy rains that continue for several days have caused floods in Germany.
According to Report's European Bureau, the current plight situation is observed in Bavaria, Saxony, and North Rhine-Westphalia.
Tens of thousands of houses were flooded in the provinces, making it difficult to evacuate the population. Some cities have been declared disaster areas. The authorities involved the helicopters in the rescue operation.
The floods have hampered the movement of firefighters and ambulances and left one person missing in Saxony. Along with the local fire brigade, rescuers from the Red Cross also joined the search.
The rainstorm also has paralyzed traffic in many cities. In particular, roads and railways along the coast of North Rhine-Westphalia were flooded.
According to the forecast, the heavy rains will continue till Sunday.
