Head of Rheinmetall intends to increase production of shells to 700,000 per year

The defense concern Rheinmetall intends to increase its production capacity for artillery shells to 700,000 units per year by 2025, the head of the concern, Armin Papperger, said in an interview with the Handelsblatt newspaper, Report informs referring to TASS.

“We are doubling or even tripling the capacity of individual enterprises to produce gunpowder, which is necessary, in particular, for [producing] charges for artillery shells,” he noted.

According to Papperger, the concern plans to produce up to 700,000 shells annually by 2025. Until this time, Ukraine will continue to remain dependent on American reserves, he added.
