Hamas promises Iran to release hostages who don’t have Israeli citizenship

Iranian authorities have confirmed having received assurances from the Palestinian group Hamas that they are ready to release prisoners who don’t have Israeli citizenship, according to the EFE agency, Report informs referring to Interfax.

“Iran has received promises from Hamas about the release of non-Israeli hostages,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said.

He clarified that Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip by Israel doesn’t yet allow this operation to be carried out.

He added that several countries have asked Tehran to negotiate with Hamas in order to achieve the release of foreign citizens held captive by the group in the Gaza Strip.
