Guterres: Food prices fell sharply but still almost 8% higher

Food prices have fallen sharply but are still almost 8% higher than last year, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres tweeted, Report informs.

“Since the signing of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, over 4.3 million metric tons of food have been moved, bound for 29 countries. Food prices have dropped sharply but are still almost 8% higher than last year. Shipments must increase so commodity markets can further stabilize,” he wrote.
