Government troops deployed in capital of Tunisia

Government army units entered the capital of Tunisia on Sunday evening, Report informs, citing TASS.

The troops took up positions in the city center, in particular, near the building of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ANP, unicameral parliament) and the headquarters of the national television company.

The measures came after President Kais Saied announced the suspension of the activities of the ANP, the abolition of parliamentary immunity of all deputies, and the resignation of Prime Minister Hisham Mashishi.

According to the Al Mayadeen TV channel, the work of the ANP has been suspended for 30 days. In addition, the president instructed to ban travel for all deputies and several government officials.
