Germany to allocate over 1B euros in aid to Syria and neighboring countries

Germany will allocate more than 1 billion euros to help alleviate the consequences of the civil war in the Syrian Arab Republic and the states of the region, said Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Office, at a donor conference held in Brussels, Report informs via dpa.

In particular, 1.053 billion euros are intended to support residents of Syria and neighboring countries. At the same time, Lindner stressed that from Germany's point of view, no refugee can be forcibly returned to the region.

The 8th conference of Syrian donors started in Brussels on Monday. The European Union has allocated 2.12 billion euros to help Syrians and refugees in Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Türkiye.
