Germany has launched the process of reorienting coal imports from Russia, other supplier countries are being considered, as well as the issue of creating a coal reserve, spokesperson of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany Beate Baron said at a briefing in Berlin, Report informs referring to foreign media.
“Apparently, there is a need for revision. The share of coal supplies from Russia is almost 50% now, this imported coal is used by coal-fired thermal power plants. We have begun work to launch a process that provides for the promotion of supplies from other countries, as well as the creation of a coal reserve,” she said.
