Germany extends quarantine regime until April 18

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the authorities of the federal states at a meeting have agreed to extend the quarantine regime until April 18, Report informs referring to TASS.

“From April 1 to April 5 (when the Catholic Christians celebrate Easter - ed.), the principle of reducing contacts will be in effect,” she said. Thus, weekend restrictions will apply not only on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, but also two additional days - April 1 and 3.

Bavarian Premier Markus Soder, who was also present at the press conference, called it an “Easter lockdown.”
