German FM: 'We must take no risks with China'

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has called for "risk minimization" in relations with China, Report informs via TASS.

Baerbock made the remark in Brussels upon her arrival in the Belgian capital for the meeting of the NATO countries’ Foreign Ministers.

"An important topic, of course, is the role of China. China has a special responsibility as a member of the Security Council. As a European partner, we have already made it clear that we must refuse to take risks with regard to China," she said, adding, however, that this does not mean keeping distance from Beijing.

Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that they would urge China to distance itself from Russia and return to a "constructive partnership with the West."
