The Hamas-run Interior Ministry announced that Gaza police chief Jamal Abu Kamil was killed in an IDF strike targeting his vehicle a short while ago in Gaza City, according to The Times of Israel.
Earlier, media outlets in Gaza reported that the IDF had struck a vehicle in the city.
The reported strike is the second today, following an IDF strike in Khan Younis in southern Gaza targeting a Hamas company commander. A weeklong lull in such strikes ended yesterday, amid discussions over a US-backed roadmap for Hamas's disarmament and the gradual withdrawal of the IDF from the territory.
